What defines a typical forest house? That was the question at the heart of the design process for this privately commissioned holiday home. Our answer is a compact and distinctive timber volume that blends seamlessly into its green surroundings: green timber façades, a green-coloured roof, and timber window frames as subtle accents.

The connection between indoors and outdoors is strengthened through a generous roof overhang on the south side and a pergola attached to the main volume. The kitchen island extends seamlessly from the interior to the exterior, continuing as an outdoor kitchen. In this way, the house merges as much as possible with the forest clearing in which it is situated.
